My topic for this paper is going to be the Girls Gone Wild organization. I would like to find out more information about it, and maybe figure out what influenced Joe Francis into forming this organization. I also want to know what influences the women in the videos to flash the cameras and strip for them, considering they don't get paid. My audience will be women of course, aged anywhere from 13 to 30. By looking into the organization I hope I can set my argument against this organization. I see these women as insecure and others see it as just sexy or the "norm". I would hope most women would wake up if they were aware of the goal behind the videos, and realize they are being used for profit. The CEO and employees of the organization gain wealth while these women gain nothing; there is something wrong with this. The organization would be different I am sure, if the women were getting paid. The organization itself is a trashy way of gaining wealth in my opinion.

I do not know anything about the Girls Gone Wild organization, so I will be interested in learning something from reading your paper. I also would like to know why they do it. I hope you can find that out. I wonder if they stop to consider how it is going to affect the rest of their life to have that image out there. It is sad that people see that as normal. I think there is something wrong with the people who enjoy viewing it too.
ReplyDeleteThat would be an interesting perspective. If you select to examine Francis, what might be interesting would be to compare him to Hugh Hefner. Hefner has always claimed that he was a feminists. Yes, I know...men can be feminists too! Of course, if you do this, then you would have to research both Francis and Hefner.
ReplyDeleteThat is a good idea, considering I can't find much info on GGW. Everytime I search it I usually get what I don't want to see! What kind of topics would be good to adress between the two people? Just from what I know Hugh Hefner seems to be a business man with a corrupt mind! Joe Francis seems to be the raunchy one by incouraging women to strip for nothing at least Hefner has a LITTLE class and pays his employees!
